Introducing Our Muslin Collection: A New Chapter at HomeyLinen
For years, we have built everything around one fabric — European linen. It has been the heart of our tablecloths, bed linen, clothing, curtains, and every piece that leaves our small studio in Lithuania. Linen is honest, natural, and made to last — and those values have shaped everything we do.
But honesty also means listening. And what we kept hearing from our customers — especially new parents — was a need for something different. Something even softer. Even gentler. Something safe for the most delicate skin from the very first day of life.
So we listened. And today, we are proud to introduce our new muslin fabric collection.
Why Muslin — and Why Now?
Muslin is not a new fabric. It has been used for centuries across cultures, valued for its lightness, breathability, and natural softness. But in 2025 and 2026, it has found a new generation of admirers — and for very good reasons.
The global muslin bedding market alone was valued at $740 million in 2024 and is projected to reach over $1.1 billion by 2030, growing at 7% annually. This is not a passing trend. The increasing focus on environmentalism and sustainability has boosted demand for muslin fabric — known for being an eco-friendly material that is both sustainable to produce and easy on the environment, muslin is well-positioned to benefit from the global shift toward more ethical consumerism.
Sustainability is increasingly driving purchasing decisions, with 70% of analysed suppliers now emphasising organic cotton or eco-certifications as a key differentiator. And 71% of millennial parents actively pick brands that support the planet — a number that reflects exactly the customer we design for.
We saw this shift coming. And we decided to meet it — on our terms, with our standards.
OEKO-TEX Certified — Our Non-Negotiable Standard
Before a single piece of muslin left our studio, we made one decision that was never up for debate: every fabric we use in our muslin collection is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
What does that mean in practice? It means every centimetre of fabric has been tested for harmful substances — dyes, finishing agents, heavy metals, pesticides — and has passed strict safety thresholds. OEKO-TEX certified muslin ensures skin-safe standards are met, and for us, that is the only acceptable starting point when making products for newborns, children, and anyone with sensitive skin.
We will not compromise on this. Not to cut costs. Not for any reason.
What Makes Muslin Special
If you have never worked with muslin before, here is what makes it unlike almost any other fabric:
It breathes. The open plain-weave structure of cotton muslin allows exceptional airflow — keeping babies cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter without trapping heat against the skin. Its lightweight construction allows sufficient airflow, making it a cool and comfortable option for warm weather conditions, while its breathable nature appeals to those with sensitive skin or allergies.
It gets softer with every wash. Unlike many fabrics that wear down over time, muslin improves. After the first wash, it softens. After the tenth, it feels like a second skin. Parents who use muslin products often describe them as becoming a household favourite precisely because they get better with use.
It is naturally hypoallergenic. Muslin fabrics are naturally breathable, gentle on sensitive skin, and preferred by many for babies — with growing awareness about the harmful effects of synthetic fabrics, muslin products appeal to those who want toxin-free options.
It is multi-purpose by nature. A single muslin blanket can serve as a swaddle wrap, nursing cover, tummy time mat, stroller shade, and light crib blanket — all without any compromise on comfort or safety.
It is sustainable. Natural cotton muslin is biodegradable, produced without synthetic fibres, and when certified organic or OEKO-TEX, free from the chemical load that burdens conventional textiles.
Our Focus: Babies and Children First
When we designed our muslin collection, we knew exactly where we wanted to start — with the people who need the safest, softest fabrics the most.
Our Baby Muslin range is the heart of this new collection. It includes:
- Muslin swaddle blanket sets — for baby girls, baby boys, and gender-neutral designs, in prints including birds, ducks, flowers, jungle animals, and terracotta
- Muslin baby pillowcases — with safe envelope closures, no zippers or buttons, available in multiple sizes including IKEA Toddler format
- Individual muslin swaddle blankets — in single prints for mix-and-match gifting
Every piece is handmade in our studio in Lithuania from double-layer, 130g/m² OEKO-TEX certified cotton muslin. Every seam is reinforced for durability through hundreds of washes. And every design is created to be gentle, practical, and genuinely beautiful.
The baby textile market is increasingly defined by safety certifications, brand storytelling, and sustainability credentials — with strong growth in social commerce and DTC platforms. We believe that handmade, certified, and honestly made products will always find their audience. And we are building ours, one blanket at a time.
Beyond Baby: Muslin for the Whole Home
While babies are our primary focus, muslin’s versatility made it impossible to stop there. Our muslin collection also includes pieces for everyday life at home:
Muslin bedding — duvet covers and pillowcases that bring natural breathability to your bedroom, perfect for warm sleepers and those who prefer lighter, cooler bed linen.
Muslin curtains — lightweight voile panels that filter light beautifully while keeping any room feeling open, airy, and calm. A natural, understated alternative to synthetic sheers.
Women’s muslin clothing — easy, breathable dresses and tops designed for warm days and relaxed living. Muslin’s lightweight breathability finds particular favour for warm weather clothing, and its subtle texture works well for layered outfit pieces.
And more pieces are in development — from muslin table linens to towels and beyond. If you have something specific in mind, we would love to hear from you.
Made in Lithuania. Made with Care.
Everything in our muslin collection — like everything we have ever made — is handmade in our small studio in Lithuania, Europe. We work in small batches, with attention to every seam, every edge, every finish.
We are not a factory. We are a small team that cares deeply about what we make and why. Adding muslin to our collection was not a commercial decision — it was a values decision. We saw a need for products that are genuinely safe, genuinely soft, and genuinely made to last. And we decided to make them.
We hope you love them as much as we do.
